Growing up, stories were in my blood.

Shocker, I know.

Quite aside from the fact that my Granny and cousin were teaching me to write poems from I don’t know how young, I have vivid memories of several-chapters-long imaginary games.

Including a couple of times I took my dog (younger sister) for a walk to the park (field by our house), or times that our ‘set-up’ for a Playmobil game took so long that we never got to… ya know… the game itself XD

Fast-forward fifteen or so years…

I’m still obsessed with stories 😉

But now I have a certificate in Creative Writing & Publishing and Business & Entrepreneurship from The Author Conservatory, and a real live story out in the world!

I still love exploring my characters’ ‘setup’ (aka backstory), but they tend to be a lot more complex these days—with the slight exception of my smol boi Teddy and his bed-monster sidekick.

I’m also obsessed with…

“The assassin you sent after me is part of my found family now. ” (plus almost all other brothers-in-arms, found family, or I’m-your-friend-now-what-are-you-gonna-do-about-it tropes)
The feeling as a plane takes off and the ground drops away outside, and the sheer beauty of clouds from a bird’s-eye view
An ‘oh, wow‘ line that makes me reach for my Pinterest quotes board

Lighting up in sync with a long-distance friend as we spot each other at an airport, or across a carpark (and the running tacklehug that follows)
Stepping into a bookshop and taking a deep breath in
Forgetting that real life exists and losing myself in other worlds and characters—even if that world is just my own with a different filter

What am I up to right now?

I’m currently in what The Author Conservatory would call the Nomad/Explorer phase of being a writer, taking my time to broaden my horizons and polish my craft before pursuing publishing full-time.

However, in the meantime, I have a short story and some adorable hoodies for you to entertain yourself with, and I am hosting quarterly movie nights with my online group of gremlins that I like to call The Chaos Crew—which you’re invited to join!
